Diagnosed with Hemophilia A at 18 months old, Alex Dowsett's life changed. His parents worked so hard to protect him as a child and he says that he is lucky to have come this far. Alex says that his mother used to put shin pads in his school uniform. Fast forward to July 18th, 2019, Alex became a symbol for the Hemophilia community by crossing the finish line of the Tour de France. This accomplishment, called unprecedented by many, was not only a shock to the Hemophilia community, but an inspiring message to everyone diagnosed with bleeding disorders to reach for the stars.
Alex Dowsett is the founder of Little Bleeders, a United Kingdom charity organization that, in his words, is "trying to make the world’s haemophilia community as lucky as I have been.” https://www.littlebleeders.com/
Alex said that his caretakers would much rather he have been a musician, but it just was not him. Alex has to infuse himself with the clotting Factor VIII every 48 hours because of his Hemophilia A. Alex Dowsett has a Youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/c/AlexDowsettOfficial
