On August 23rd the Hemophilia Federation of America (HFA) started offering mental health courses under its Health and Wellness Center According to the HFA, learning through Learning Central, "provides adult learners with knowledge in an easily-accessible environment and measures learning success and other metrics." These courses offer information on specific mental health topics and also address pain management and forced lifestyle changes.
The HFA, a non-profit organization, states that '“There were also people fighting insurance companies and trying to do infusions — they were falling apart,” said Lori Long, director of Institute/HFA’s Learning Central. “There were stories of people having meltdowns at their HTC and stories of women trying to get diagnosed and not getting treatment.”'
