A recent partnership between the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) and Robert F. of the New York University (NYU), Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, launched a new free eight-month virtual program for WFH national member advocates called the Path to Access to Care and Treatment Program. According to the PACT Program, this initiative will include, "the necessary knowledge and skills to carry out successful evidence-based advocacy campaigns. Main topics include key concepts and principles of care, access to therapies and procurement, an introduction to health economics and health technology assessment, and the design and implementation of advocacy programs." Those who participate and complete the program will receive a certificate of completion from the World Federation of Hemophilia and New York University.

The courses will start in February of 2022 and will be taught in English. There are plans to incorporate more languages as the course nears 2023. The course will include 4 central topics: '

• Key concepts in bleeding disorders, principles of care, and advocacy

• Key concepts in therapeutic products, procurement models, and tenders

• Introduction to health economics and health technology assessment

• Advocacy skills and design of a campaign '


Each of these central topics will last from 6 to 8 weeks long which will include a "self-directed online learning module, and two live interactive webinars." (PACT Program).



How do I apply?


Those who would like to participate in the PACT Program will need to fill out a form and apply with a signed recommendation letter, signed by their NMO president (or an executive director), This letter must be signed and submitted by October 31, 2021. Participants must follow the criteria stated here.
